I’m at Narita Airport.
It’s been a very long time since I was last here.
I’m not leaving Japan today.
I’m waiting for a friend and writing this.
Still, being here feels important to me.
I used to live in the United States, but since I came back to Japan, I haven’t traveled abroad.
Narita is also where I left Japan for the first time, when I was in junior high school.
So being here again brings back a lot of memories.
And it makes me think about what comes next.
There are still so many things I want to do.
I want to go out into the world again.
First, I need to get a passport.
And I need to keep improving my language skills.
To everyone reading this: if you ever feel like talking, please say hello.
Online is good too.
And if you come to Japan someday, maybe we can meet in person.
Maybe I can show you around.
And if I visit your part of the world someday, I hope we can talk there too.
An airport is a place to come back to, and maybe also a place to begin again.
I hope many good days begin from here.
